Cosmi Player Licence Agreement

Version 1.2 — Microsoft Store distribution

Effective 6 October 2026; aligned with Cosmi Player 1.1.0.0.

1. About this agreement

This agreement concerns your use of Cosmi Player, a Windows media player published under the Cosmisan brand (“Cosmisan”, “we” or “us”). The application publisher is identified in the Microsoft Store listing from which you acquire the application.

For copies acquired through Microsoft Store, the regional Microsoft Store Standard Application License Terms applicable to your acquisition form part of this agreement, together with the additional terms below.

The third-party licence rights described in section 6 take precedence over any conflicting application restriction. Nothing in this agreement limits rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

2. Your licence to use Cosmi Player

Cosmi Player is licensed, not sold. Subject to the terms applicable to your purchase, you may install and use it on the Windows devices permitted by your Microsoft Store licence and the applicable Microsoft Usage Rules.

Cosmisan and its licensors retain their respective intellectual property rights in the application and its components.

Except where applicable law or a third-party licence permits otherwise, you may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the proprietary application, remove its ownership notices, or bypass its licensing restrictions. Restrictions on modification and reverse engineering are subject to the express permissions in section 6.

3. Your playlists, providers and media

Cosmi Player provides software for accessing and playing playlists and media that you supply, including live channels, movies and series. Purchasing the application does not include television channels, movies, series, a streaming subscription, provider credentials or rights to any programme or other media.

You are responsible for ensuring that you are entitled to access and use the content and services you connect to the application. You must comply with applicable law and the terms of your content providers.

You may not use Cosmi Player to gain unauthorized access to accounts, services or content, or to infringe another person’s copyright or other rights.

Your agreements with third-party providers are separate from this agreement. Those providers control their services, content availability, account permissions and connection limits. Cosmi Player does not guarantee compatibility with every provider, stream or media format.

4. Recording and temporary storage

Playback, buffering and recording can create copies of media on your device. Use these features only where you have the necessary rights or permission under applicable law and your provider’s terms. Access to a stream does not automatically give you permission to record, redistribute or publicly show it.

Temporary playback data may be deleted during normal operation. Recordings can be incomplete or interrupted because of source availability, network conditions, storage limitations, device failures or other technical conditions. Keep separate backups of files you need to retain.

Cosmisan does not acquire ownership of your media through your use of the application.

5. Updates and support

Updates may be delivered through Microsoft Store. Features and compatibility may change as the application, Windows and third-party services evolve, subject to your purchase terms and applicable law.

Support is available at support@cosmisan.com. Any specific support or maintenance commitments expressly made with your purchase remain applicable.

6. Open-source and other third-party components

Cosmi Player includes components supplied under their own licences. These include LibVLCSharp, LibVLCSharp.WPF, LibVLC, FFmpeg, LIVE555, Microsoft .NET components, SQLite-related components and licensed fonts.

Cosmi Player uses libraries from the FFmpeg project under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later. FFmpeg and the other third-party components remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

The applicable component licences govern your rights to those components and take precedence over conflicting application terms. No application restriction limits the rights those licences grant to use, copy, modify or redistribute the covered components.

Some bundled Microsoft runtime components are supplied under the Microsoft .NET Library License or Windows SDK licence terms, as identified in the component notices. The applicable Microsoft terms form part of the terms for those components. Use them as part of Cosmi Player; any separate use or redistribution requires rights under their applicable licence. Preserve Microsoft and supplier notices. These component-specific terms do not apply to unrelated open-source components or reduce the LGPL permissions below.

To the extent required by the applicable LGPL, you may modify the combined work for your own use, including replacing or relinking covered libraries with compatible modified versions, and reverse engineer the work to debug those modifications. Application restrictions on modification, reverse engineering or working around technical limitations do not restrict these permissions. This includes covered library code incorporated into plugins.

Cosmi Player’s proprietary application code remains separately licensed. Including open-source components does not place that proprietary code under their licences.

Complete component notices and licence texts are available offline under Settings → Legal information. Matching covered-library sources, modifications, build materials and replacement instructions are provided through the Open source notices and downloads pages on the Cosmisan website. Select the downloads matching your app version.

7. Privacy

The Cosmi Player Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the application or contact us.

Services you connect to through the application handle information under their own privacy policies. This agreement does not replace those policies or any consent required by law.

8. Purchases, warranties and liability

Payment, refunds, warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the applicable Microsoft Store purchase and application licence terms, together with applicable law.

Statements about provider availability, technical limitations or possible interruptions do not exclude any statutory guarantee, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Ending your use and resolving disputes

You may stop using Cosmi Player and uninstall it at any time. Licence termination, governing law and dispute resolution are governed by the applicable regional Microsoft Store application terms and mandatory law.

Ending your licence to the proprietary application does not, by itself, terminate rights you hold independently under third-party component licences.

10. Changes and contact

Any revised terms will identify their effective date and be presented with the relevant release or through the distribution channel, with notice or acceptance where required by law. Publishing revised wording on our website does not, by itself, retroactively remove rights attached to an earlier acquisition.
